My first book,\u00a0Never Name the Dead\u00a0<\/em>is set to be released on November 8, 2022. This is a dream come true. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since discovering Trixie Belden mysteries in fifth grade, I have always wanted to write mystery novels. If I couldn’t be Trixie, writing mysteries seemed the next best thing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a kid, I often made up the scenarios for pretend play with my sister and brother. We went from attacks with handmade bows and arrows, that propelled miles in our mind but usually plopped a foot away, to space age zip guns made from a stick, clothes pin, and rubber bands, all in a single afternoon of adventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an adult, I often ended my day working out stories and characters in my mind, always wanting to put the scenes into words, but never making it happen. Until I finally got out of my own way and did it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 3, 2020,<\/strong> I finished my first draft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It felt amazing to finally write my first story at 61. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found it was fun pretending again each day. That\u2019s how stories develop for me; I imagine and play them out, capturing characters and dialogue then painting the scene. It felt so good, I had finally done what I had dreamed of doing since I was ten years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
